A Trio of Poems
Sundin Richards

A Winter Sunset
--for J

A wind
a good one

blowing your
skirts against
your legs

And you looking
back smiling the
blue we all want

I’m a hide on
the barn door
then

When the lake
is beautiful
and we’re here

Together

An Appeal

Any time you’re
ready Fata Morgana

I’ve got a Main Street
thing to say to you

I’ll be there late
with a switchblade
in my back

And my boots are polished
one of them knows your name

And address so how about
you just hand me that sauce

And forget the
whole thing

For your sake
and mine
